Bangaram Island

Bangaram Island

  Bangaram is the only international resort in Lakshadweep and also an ideal location for a holiday. It is uninhabited, isolated and unspoilt surrounded by one of the largest and safest lagoons with its calm, blue-green waters beaches covered with white coral islands. For a visit to Bangaram island tourists have to travel by flight from Kochi to Agatti and are transferred from Agatti to Bangaram island beach resort by boat in fair weather and by helicopter during the monsoon. At present the flights operate on all days excluding Sundays from Kochi.

Hotels at Bangaram Island

  Casino group of hotels has its accommodations -Bangaram Island Resort at Bangaram Island. Access by air from Kochi to Agatti and further by boat or by helicopter. It is an uninhabited island spread over 128 acres ensures at least 2 acres of space to each guest with excellent beaches, catamaran rides, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving and deep sea fishing.


Kadamat Island

  To visit the Kadamat island foreigners have to avail the package tour of Kadamat Beach Resorts and water sports Institute organized by SPORTS a wing of Lakshadweep administration. A six day package by ship: sailing from Kochi on the 1st day and reaching Kadamat on the 2nd. On return sailing from Kadamat on the 5th day and reaching Kochi on the morning of the 6th day. Ship cruises are available as packages designed for the tourists. SPORTS is the official agency for conducting these programmes. The islands is not open to individual tourists.

Scuba diving at Bangaram and Kadamat

  Beginners' course is an eight day course conducted by trained instructors and dive masters and introduces you to the wonders of life under the sea, untouched and unspoilt. Average visibility is 150ft. The centre is geared to conduct 3 dives a day at Kadamat and 2 dives at Bangaram and also night dives. All equipment is provided by Lacadives.Swimming skills are mandatory. Minimum age for diving is 14 years. A doctor's certificate declaring the candidate fit for diving is also necessary.
