Hill Station Of Munnar

Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations of south India. This pristine valley with spice and tea plantations all around make it a romantic haven. It is situated at a height of 1600 metres above sea level in Idukki district and it lies at the confluence of three mountain streams of Mudrapuzha, Nallathani and Kundala. Munnar gets its name from the tamil word Munnar which means three rivers. It was at one time the summer resort of the British Government in South India. There are plenty of place of interest in and around the hill station of Munnar

Devikulam This hill station with gorgeous green lawns is about 16 kms from Munnar. It is noted for its exotic flora and fauna and is a nature lover's paradise! The Sita Devi Lake with its mineral water and picturesque location make it a great picnic spot and the lake is ideal for fishing.



Pallivasal is around 8 kms from Munnar and is known for its great scenic beauty. It is also the venue for the first Hydro - Electric Project in Kerala.

Eravikulam National Park

It is situated 15kms from the hill station of Munnar in the Devikulam taluq and is spread over 97sq.km.


This place is located between rolling hills and panoramic waterfalls and is great for trekking and long walks in the hills.


Situated 6kms from Munnar hill station, Pothamedu is known for its tea, coffee and cardamom plantations and is also a popular spot for trekking and hiking.


Anaimudi at 2695m is the highest peak in southern India and its beauty can be viewed from the hill station of Munnar.

Top Station

This is located at a heigh of 1700m and happens to be the highest point on the Munnar Kodaikanal road. It offers a beautiful view of the state of Tamilnadu.


It is located 10km from the hill station of Munnar and has an old world charm about it with its sleepy cottages, bungalows and courts. This hill town is also famous for its beautiful tea plantations.
