By Air: Thiruvananthapuram is an important international gateway of South India with 30 direct flights from West Asia, Sri Lanka and Maldives. On the national circuit Indian, Air India, Jet Airways and Air Deccan connect the city with direct flights. The airport is 8 kms from the city centre.
By Rail: The city is connected with all the major cities in the region and other cities of India. The southernmost tip of the Indian mainland, Kanyakumari is 2 hrs 20 minutes by train.
By Road: The city is very well served by the efficient road network too. At the junction of four National Highways Nos 17,7,45 and 47, the city is connected to all parts of the country by good roads. The state highway network links the city to all parts of the state. Bus services of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and road transport corporations of Tamil Nadu provide links from all major centres of the region.
