Puri Beach

  It is said that if one knows Orissa, one knows India, cradled by the eastern Ghats, the state offers a heady combination of sun; surf and sand that makes it difficult for most travelers to resist the lure of the virgin beaches.

Puri beach:

Among the various beaches of Orissa, the most famous one is Puri beach for its golden sands, soothing sun-bath and the colorful sunrise and sunset. The fine white sands of the beach and the roar of the breakers rolling in from the Bay of Bengal have fascinated visitors throughout the ages. With excellent beach facing hotels and guest houses, the Puri beach is an ideal holiday spot where you can bathe and laze or enjoy seeing the local fishermen plying their catamarans and sailboats.

Konark beach:

Falling on the Golden Triangle circuit of eastern India besides Bhubaneswar and Puri, Konark is famed in the annals of history for its exquisite Sun temple and equally renowned for its sprawling beach. Known as Chandrabhaga, the wide open beach of Konark is rated amongst the finest beaches of India on the eastern coastline. The long stretch of sylvan sands, soothing blue sea rushing in the rolling waves, makes the Konark beach one of the most mesmerizing place to relax and rewind.


       


Beleswar beach:

Site of a Shaivite shrine Beleswar located 15 km from Puri has a serene beach where devotees can meditate and spend time praying to their Lord.

Balighai beach

Located 8 km from Puri the Casuarina fringed Balighai beach is a famous picnic spot. The juxtaposition of gentle river with crashing desolate ocean coast is an extremely beautiful phenomena. One may also catch a glimpse of the shy Baliharina deer that inhabit the area. The sea turtle research centre is another attraction of this beach.

Chandipur beach:

16 km away from Balasore, Chandipur is a peaceful seaside resort where the se recedes 5 kms everyday. Other places of tourist interest around Balasore are Remuna, Panchalingeswar, Aradi and Chandaneswar.
