Travel to Mussoori

A short trip to Mussoorie can rescue from the heat of the plains. Located on the Garhwal hills and 2500 sq.ft above sea level the 'Queen of the Hills' lives up to its name. Tourists will find the air pure and invigorating, the mountains majestic and the plains below green and verdant to the jaded eye.

Enjoy Mussoorie's promenade the Mall which extends from Library Bazaar and ends at the Clock tower where Landour Bazaar starts. Towards the end of Landour Bazaar you enter the cantonment which has an atmosphere of its own old world and still unspoilt. West of Library Bazaar lays the Happy Valley; it covers municipal gardens, the Tibetan School and Home and National Academy of Administration. An excursion to Kempty Falls is must which is an hour's drive away on the Mussoorie -Yamunotri route.

Lengthen your stride and climb the steep road to Lal Tibba the peak towering above Landour and Sister's Bazaar. The circular road at the top provides great views of the Bandar Poonch Massif and the Gangotri range. Here the northern slopes are clad in deodar and rhododendron the latter ablaze with scarlet blossoms in spring. You can also walk down the Tehri road along the crest of the Ridge. The Camel's Back Road, a 3km stretch from the library to the Kulri Bazaar is a pleasant walk. From Kachehri on the Mall you can take a 20 minute stroll down a bridle path to Gun Hill. However most tourists prefer the 400 m ropeway to get there.
